I just saw this movie for the first time, I know there's been a thread about it before. I thought it was pretty good all around, and had one really inspired comic scene.

Some of the counelors go into town for an hour, and in a montage we see them buy beer, smoke dope, buy coke, rob an old lady for drug money and collapse in a shooting gallery tennament injecting smack.

Then they show back up at camp, perfectly normal, talking about how great it was to get away, even for just an hour. I laughed hard.

Yeah, that was my favourite scene was well; hysterical stuff. I also really liked the part were they were having the motorcycle chase and the guy is stopped by a barrel of hay. It is a really funny movie.

Glad you finally got to check it out, Max. It's an extremely underrated movie, and I can't believe more people haven't seen it. Everyone in the movie is pretty damned good, but Christopher Meloni (the crazy chef guy) really steals the show if ya ask me.

I really gotta get that damned movie on DVD.

It's been repriced for about $12 now. I can't find it in stores, but you can get it from Amazon.

My favorite part was the sex scene.

Yeah, I was quote taken with it. I worked at a summer camp for ten summers and I promise you who ever wrote that did too. When Jeanine Garoffolo (WHO I HAVE HUNG OUT WITH ON NUMEROUS OCCASSIONS OMG I AM A NAMEDROPPER!!) reads the early bus list that was so fucking REAL! We used to have this ancient german secretary and her reading of the bus list was the fucking highlight of the summer.

I also loved the heightened acting style the sometimes lapsed into, like when they trash the infirmary looking for the phone.

My favorite part is right after the "trip into town" sequence, when Mike Showalter goes "hey guys, wait up!" and he joins his friends who are just standing, facing a wall.

Is this a parody of summer comedies or something? If all you guys like it, I might as well just buy it. Found it for £4.49 at play.com, if anyone else from Europe is interested.

It's a spoof of the classic 80's summer camp/teen movies. It doesn't driectly play off any film, but just exaggerates the tone that the movies had, combined with very classes State-like humor.

And yes, you should just go and buy it, especially for that price.

Nah, that was a vanilla release. I found the region 1 version with commentary track by Garfalio and other stuff at a reasonable price, so I'm going for that one instead.

You guys better not fuck me on this one

I think I'm the only person who didn't find the chef very funny.
And even though it gets old after a little while, the fart track on the DVD is a very funny idea. I miss the State.
