I've tried many demo's and so far I find most of them ok but still not sure which one to go with. I own a Cakewalk program that sucks and have tried Sonar/Ntrack/Adobeaudition/musicmaker/cubasis and others :/

I would like to have something simple that after I take my mixed or unmixed audio from my fourtrack and convert it to wave or mp3

I haven't really done much recording or mixing but I use Acid Pro. I got it for free.

I hear Cubase is the best, and friends of mine use it all the time.

I've tried Cubase, it is a very good product. Another problem that I have with Acid and Cubasis is that I would need to up grade my computer to atleast a Pentium 4 and tons of ram and a much bigger hard drive later I guess.

If you're going to do any kind of decent audio editing on your computer and not just convert tapes to mp3, you will need a lot of RAM and hard drive space. And if you're not going to be doing bigtime editing, you don't need good software.

I've used Cubase for years, but if I didn't have midi gear I'd probably use something else.

All I know about Audition is 1135-1381-2149-2687-0272-1819

i use a lot of different programs. mostly cooledit, vegas, sound forge, masterbeat, reaktor, recycle, and pro-52.
however, i'm posting to see if any has any idea where i can find a program i lost long ago. it takes image files (pretty simple ones like bmp and gif) and turns them into sound. i want to say it was called something along the lines of "coagulite" or something. i've searched a bit and come up with nothing. i miss this program dearly. please help me find my lost puppy.
