I had a bit of trouble with it too, but you must remember: Maxs father is Judas, and Judas sold out Jesus. Jesus was Jewish, and so is Anne Frank. I mean was. Anne Frank was the only other person he could think of that was Jewish. So by Proxy, Max is a Judaism.
