I've never been mugged because I live in a country where handgun sales and ownership are highly restricted, as they serve no practical purpose to the general public.
This means that the availablilty of handguns is severely lowered and use of them in a crime carries minimum sentencing, meaning that if handguns are used, if at all, they are used by high profile gangmembers, engaging in large scale organized crime or gang warfare, all of which generally don't involve the genral public, rather then being used to rob silly twats for thier pocket change.
High occurances of gun violence are only futher proof that your country lacks any culture, sucks at hockey, makes shitty beer and if full of funny looking women. EDIT - and have small penises, the probable cause of handgun ownership in the firstplace.
