I think it's a big problem when those newcomers of a diversified society, especially on college campuses, assume that every single brown people are terrorists because the only place they've ever were exposed to these types are on tv and in magazines where they are portrayed as bad people. I know a thing or two about ignorance on campus because I grew up in deaf community where we're all the same regardless of our race and color and I've been a victim of verbal assaults by college idiots. Like this one time in my second year of college, I was confronted by 4 drunk jocks in the elevator who were looking for deaf people to beat up after they saw me and my friend using sign language to communicate. My friend who is hard of hearing and I started singing one of our favorite death metal songs that we had been rehersing. They were shocked and kind of left us alone. I think we broke the sterotype barrier that they had when they thought deaf people can't hear and are mute.
