Sadly, I took me a few years to muster up the courage to get by that (im pretty sure you are thinking of the first act, though). Even after working the barrel, time was an issue in both acts. Also that room full of doors in Bowsers Keep in Super Mario RPG. You couldnt save after clearing a door and every time I ended up in the room where you had to hit all the right series switches I knew I was fucked.
