Edit: That being said, I think you just failed the first trial of the secret santa: understanding everything implicitly the first time with no explanation. You are now banished.

Doubleedit: I just reread what you wrote, and I think you still are a little confused. The idea here is that you pm him with your full name and address, and he pm's you back with his snail mail address. You then send him a snail mail letter to prove you are actually willing to mail things, and that your address is correct. When he gets it, your name goes on the participants list. Hope that helps.
