I've seen this sort of thing before... At the goth club I used to frequent, participants would be tied to the "rack" -- a big wooden "X" -- and the doms would do various things to them, one of which included dragging sharp knives across their backs (but not pressing down hard enough to draw blood). I had it done to me once with the metal claws (not as sharp as the blades; it'd take more force to break the skin) and I've gotta say it felt pretty good... like having an itch scratched that you didn't even know was there.

But unless you've "trained" with this sort of thing and are experienced enough not to break the skin, that was pretty messed up of her to put the dagger in your hand and place you in that situation. If you want my opinion, you did the right thing by leaving -- though you probably should've left before the play began. ^^;;
