I'm confused. Should I build my bomb shelter as protection against a terrorist assault or weather-proof it?

Any scientist with knowledge of geographical world history would tell you that the change described in the movie would be incremental and take thousands of years. The thought of a sudden change just doesn't align with known facts and anyone who cites this movie as legitimate theory to support their cause is an idiot regardless of their motives. The movie is just that ... a movie. That's not to say that environmental issues aren't important but I don't see the point of pleading your case while using this movie as a "case in point". Yes, the eventual threat is there for future generations but building your case by spreading fear and apprehension and over-empathizing the threat is about as usefull as upping the terrorist threat level and showing photos on TV.
