My NES for the most part didn't turn yellow but the door to close the cartridge port did.
Just the opposite on my SNES... everything BUT the cartridge port turned yellow on it.
I was thinking it WAS smoke stains because I'm a relatively heavy smoker, but by the time I WAS a heavy smoker, I no longer had an NES or SNES.
