I won art contests before due to the competition's incompetance. Honestly, in every highschool there are usually only 1 or 2 people who can actually draw.
Having said that, if she is serious about art: no respectable artist would turn in copied work in a contest or even as an assignment for highschool art class and be able to live with themselves.
