I also want to note:
the conversation has been rehashed a zillion times in a million cafes, and I never perceived myself as being 'one step ahead of Sartre,' but anyone having even a modicum of education and experience debating the topic already knows every single argument about it.
"COMMUNISM IS BAD BECAUSE OF SHIT LIKE POL POT"
"CAPITALISM IS BAD BECAUSE OF SHIT LIKE EXPLOITED WORKERS."
The debate did not go much further than that.
