That might just be a symbolic description for hell, meaning that it's somewhat the opposite of the world we know. (For example, there is no hope and people do not care neither love each other) So, hell
could be emotionlly cold, but physically hot and fiery place.
But hey, that's just me, and I might be wrong too. Just giving you guys a new point of view
