I have to agree. It's like no matter what W does wrong, he blusters and snorts and says "I had it planned this way all along". I don't think it's blind loyalty so much as an inability to admit when he's going down in flames.

I picture him as that bully, when caught with the dead cat in one hand, and a hammer in the other, vehemently denies that he killed the pussy.
