And if we're in deep shit because someone says that killing enemies of the state is an act of love for the nation, then, well, we can take some comfort in the fact that we're no deeper in shit than any human being that has ever lived in a city/nation/state/tribe/empire/etc.
Also, we're definitely not in 'a deep shit' no matter what.
