Did it ever occur to you, that your parents might have- oh I don't know- grown up and learned from their mistakes?
I moved out early and did drugs when I was younger (I don't have kids) but I realize know how stupid it was now. Drugs are just boring and a waste of money. That said, I know a lot of people who still like doing drugs, but most of them are pretty boring. You can only hear the "I got so high last night" story so many times before it gets old.
It doesn't make someone a 'hypocrite' to learn from their mistakes and change their mind.
