Recommend me a badass movie
Years of being a sensitive new age guy in a country better suited to badasses (the guys here are badass for a reason, 99% of the wildlife can kill you) have left me weak and easy to beat up.
I need a list of the manliest movies known to man, as it were. To prepare me for life in the harsh postapocalyptic future that lies ahead for me in Bartertown, err, I mean Sydney, I will need to have seen significantly badass films to prepare me for what could amount to a future where Tina Turner is Prime Minister after Rudd.
Badass movies I have already seen:
300: Seen it, despite what you might think of me, I liked it.
American Psycho: Cool movie, but Bateman isn't really a role model.
Easy Rider: Seen it, thought my brother should get over this movie.
The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly: I remember seeing this film with my brother, Clint Eastwood was the highlight but his doublecrossing mate was also a cool character.
Fight Club: I actually watched this film when I was doing a Society and Culture project on masculinity and cinema perceptions in Australia. The control factor was a Bollywood movie called Devdas. Needless to say, you can guess what the average Australian male prefers as their role model. Even though I disagree with them missing the point of the movie.
Movies I want to see that are manly but don't know if they're out in Australia:
Old Yeller: People tell me this is the only movie it's acceptable for a man to cry at the end of. Well, at least I've been warned.
Audition: Some movie critic on a podcast says this is a film that "every man should watch, but it will destroy you."
Every John Wayne Film Except True Grit (which I've already seen)
Die Hard 1-4. Never seen any of these films.
Any other recommendations?
