How about a scavenger hunt kinda thing? You make a list of items people have to look for, and you award points for each depending on how hard they are to find, and you have people send the stuff to you via mail or something.
I think more people might do that than create a toy figure.
Or "take you picture" contest kinda thing... that's kinda lamer though..
