whenever a 'scene' of anysort is created, whether its kids united through a musical style, a love of comic books or just simple computer nerds there will always be some people who will hark back to when it used to be so much better. Its a way of validating the ego, of claiming authenticity of saying 'fuck you i was here first- get to the back of the line new kid.'
i mean how many times have you mentioned a band you like to someone only for some annoying twat to say 'yeah well ofcourse they were much better befroe they signed to a major'.
