He posted a cut n' paste from the New York Post recently. That's like a liberal broadsheet for Vinth.

Yes, the Secret Service should protct the President. I think though, that making sure protesters do not appear on camera in news coverage is outside their perview however, nor is vetting the political opinion of an observer.

Any security measure they would like to use should be equally applied. No signs? Fine no signs. Period. Metal detectors? Fine, you make it through the metal detector you get to go.

Your point, Kev, about Lincoln and Mckinley is I think stretched. Booth could have claimed to be a supporter. I don't think carrying a protest sign makes you more likely to be an assasin.
