Getting phone numbers

I've been in this situation before. What I did was simply talk to the girl and to make sure to not seem too desperate. When she was about to leave, I asked her if she would like to talk again at some point. She gave me her AOL screen name (I'm uncomfortable talking on the phone), and it was actually hers. After a few days of talking to her on AIM, though, I found out she was quite vapid and was sort of the village bicycle.

If you really like a girl you meet a party, try to talk it up with her, then ask for her phone number/AIM Screen Name/email address so you can continue talking to her. Then work your way up to asking her out....

I have no idea if this will help you or not... I hope it does more good than bad, though.
