Yeah the characters' constant grunting IS pretty annoying. But you gotta admit hearing some of the enemies' shrieks when you cut em apart is entertaining, at best satisfying
About the power of the special moves being lacked. I think that makes it more interesting in a way because where you will fit the move near the end of enemies' life, while you drain them near the middle with your character moves that require less endurance.
