Well, at least you'll have better peace of mind when it all goes to shit... I think that as long as you have good intentions, it doesn't matter if you can't spend freely on everything you and your family want. I mean, it's not like you are blowing your cash on drugs and hookers (hopefully). Your kids will be fine. They'll learn a thing or two about being frugal, and come out being nice people just like you are.
