See, I think that's the major point here. There's no question but that Clinton and Bush administrations could have done a better job on Al Quaeda. I don't fault the Bush adminsitration halfway as much as Clarke does for pre 9/11 fumbling.

It's W's friggin' obession with the total red herring of Iraq. We're throwing people, money and international good will down the toilet there and if they collapse into civil war and anarchy after we hnd over power it will be damn hard to keep saying "well, at least they're better off than under Sadaam." Want proof? Look at the friggin' Congo.
