Umm... I've been spoiled by XP, but I'll try to remember as best I can.
You need to view the properties for your network connection in My Network, and ensure that TCP/IP is in the list of protocols that comes up on the first panel (I think it's the first panel anyways.).
If not, you will need to install it (very simple to do... click Add, select Protocols, select TCP/IP).
If it is installed, you need to make sure that it's bound to your network card. One of the tabs should have something to do with bindings, or you may have to go into the properties for TCP/IP. Just make sure that it's checked on for your network card, and checked OFF for any file and printer sharing that you might have on your network.
