Three of us went to see that movie yesterday and all agreed it was pretty pathetic. The battle scenes were weak as hell. I'm also now convinced that Orlando Bloom can't act for shit.

I thought the movie was pretty good. It wasn't spectacular or anything but it was a pretty solid film. I'm okay with the changes they made, as I didn't remember many details from the original mythology anyway, and a lot of them were made for decent reasons. It was a little too "Hollywood" but that's what I expected.

I went into the movie with really low expectations and I was pleasantly surprised.

Maybe he was thinking about the Gauls, who often went into battle wearing only a torque.

No, I know what Numbers guy was referring to, but I'll be damned if I can remember the exact name right now. There were some Greeks that fought in the nude because they felt it was more honourable, just like with athletics.

In particular there was a phalanx unit comprised entirely of gay lovers sworn to fight to the death and to the last man. They fought in the nude and they all died in one battle.

The best part about the Spartans was that if a neighbouring country pleaded them for military help, they'd send one person. So hardcore, yet hilarious.
