Ghost in the Shell isn't overrated, it's just overwatched. Once or twice is enough. The soundtrack is pretty, too - all 8 versions of the same fucking song.
Anime is OK in reasonable doses. Or all-night marathons when you're a geek in college with nothing better to do.
