Look at Freddy vs Jason, though. There was JUST enough plot to explain why they were in the same movie, and then you sat through a whole shitty movie just to get to the fight people were wanting to see.
You don't even have THAT with an idea like this. None that I could see, anyway. You just have the fight, and I don't know how that would go. I also don't like the idea of Ash being handled by someone else.
