DIC Entertainment gets animated about children's TV. The company produces and distributes animated TV programs on broadcast and cable networks in 150 countries worldwide. Its three-hour DIC Kid's Network programming block airs on 450 stations in the US. DIC's library contains more than 3,000 half-hours of animated programming, such as "Inspector Gadget, Liberty's Kids," "Sonic Hedgehog, and" "Strawberry Shortcake". DIC also produces videotapes and DVDs for the home entertainment market and merchandises toys, apparel and other consumer goods featuring its characters. Founded in 1971, the company was bought by CEO Andy Heyward in 1986. Later sold to ABC, Heyward and Bain Capital acquired it back from Disney in 2000.
