Fucking lies.
My cat likes to find anything that makes to most uncomforting noise as possible, and bat it around until he runs back under my dresser, then continues to scratch the floor.

I'm having these troubles, too. Music does help. I keep a window open and play some sort of soft music. I think taking deep breaths and then breathing normally does something to my brain that helps it shut off faster.
