DID YOU KNOW:
Saint Patrick's Day was originally called Saints Alive Day. The holiday was originally created to celebrate those who had achieved Sainthood in the Catholic church, and passed away. It wasn't until after the Irish-English War that the holiday was changed to Saint Patrick's Day, when the Irish government renounced Catholicism. And then, it wasn't until 1967 - nearly 30 years later - that Saint Patrick's Day was officially recognized as the new official holiday name.
