then a few days later they let us know that they have been raiding the credit reports of airline passengers, something not even the patriot act allows for.

i have been reading Danse Macabre by Stephen King recently (and unless you really give a crap about how horror stories are supposed to work, or are interested in kings views on the subject i do not reccomend it) and he has a part in the book where he discusses how paranoid everyone was at the end of the sixties, how the man was "watching" everyone. king was sort of poo pooing the whole thing, assuming it was all just paranoia.

it scared me cause what he thought of as scary in those days is nothing in comparison to what the government is doing now.
