Oh no! You mean "free healthcare" isn't really free afterall? No shit.

But, even with all the taxes that we Canadians pay, it's still cheaper than the U.S. And that's without taking into account any exchange rate.

How much money do you have to lay out each time you visit a doctor, Vince? Afterall, you have that terrible medical condition that makes you fall down when it gets hot.

What about medicine? It only cost me $3.20 for a 10-day prescription of antibiotics to cure my pneumonia. Know what the pre-government, pre-health-coverage cost would have been? $35.00.

The only reason why celebrities, as you call them, travel to the U.S. for medical coverage has nothing to do with the quality of medical care. It has everything to do with speed. If I have money and cancer, I will go to where I can have my cancer treated tomorrow.

Sure, the service might be slow and there's long waiting lists for some things, but you'll never see a patient turned away from a Canadian hospital because they don't have enough money. Having everyone contribute makes it cheaper for everyone.

And if you don't like that idea? Just pretend that all your tax money went to pay for road improvements.
