AGP graphics card wont work

It's a brand-spanking new Emachines PC, model d4617 or d6417, i forget. I tried a lot of shit, and it looks like what he has to do is install the drivers to activate his AGP slot, but the goddamn hardware manager doesn't list his motherboard make or anything in any of the four controllers listed. It's nonsensical fucking garbage, i don't know why they would make this information hard to get, but i sure as shit couldn't find anything. Maybe someone else has a source or another solution?
