I agree with ziggy that ALF's purposes are acts of terrorism in order to instill fear into business people that their businesses would plummet economically if any more bombings or arson should occur in the future.

Funny thing, as I'm typing this, my girlfriend was telling me about an adult video store next town that had been vandalized by arsonists last night. That's the second adult video store in massachusetts in a week thats been torched.

I hate these people.
If it is merely to strike fear into the hearts of people, then there are a lot of examples of terrorism out there and terrorism has become way too broad of a term.
