At the risk of sounding like a complete nutjob, I believe the only difference between Calvin Coolidge and Pol Pot is what they were allowed to get away with. I don't trust any politician to limit his or her own activity to that which is just. It's not cynicism. It's the foundation of our country.

While I'm already on record as being more or less ambivalent toward the whole NSA spying "scandal," that's not because I like the idea of it happening as much as I understand that much worse abuses of power happen all the time. MUCH worse. ALL the time.

mburbank~ Yes, okay, fine, I do know what you meant, but why is it not possible for you to get through a paragraph without making all the words cry?

How can someone who obviously thinks so much of their ideas have so little respect for expressing them? How can someone who so yearns to be taken seriously make so little effort?!
