Pot makes you stupid. I can tell you this from experience.
So in fact your experience is "Pot makes ME stupid." not "Pot makes YOU stupid."
Personally I don't find myself any less intelligent when it's completely out of my system (30+days with no smoke), I just don't seem to get half as much stuff done. Except playing video games and posting on I-Mockery.
