It was written, and directed by Jeff Daniels.
The story starts off with the hero of the film being 43 years old, and buckless(never shot a deer) in a hunting town up near the canadian boarder. His wife was a indian, and suggest new 'traditions' to help him bag a buck.
It had aliens, indian spirts, possessions, beer, whiskey, the Jimmer (who can drink like a fish) a car that took a shit, and the best quote in any movie.
"I needja to keep me covered, incase of aliens or bears... alien bears."
