HALO 3 Rumor thread

I thought the trailer was really cool, but just for the messages. Before Halo 1, the Cortana e-mails Bungie sent out to the marathon newsgroups included the line "Oh, and your poet Eliot had it wrong - THIS is the way the world ends." Near the end of the new trailer, it says something similar, and Bungie ended Marathon in a trilogy (though Halo being the prequels to Marathon and the last Spartan (Master Chief) becoming a god at the end of Marathon: Infinity, it's assured that it isn't Earth or the Master Chief that will be blown to payces by the end of Halo 3), so they'll likely end Halo in the same way; Which is not to say that they won't create more trilogies based in the same universe. Given that there's no mention of the Covenant or Flood in Marathon, it'll most likely be those guys that get ended.

Being a total Bungie mythology fag since Marathon 2, I'm eating this shit up :< I hope it turns out that Cortana has become a rampant AI and does something just awful ;>
