Ok, I was bored so I read through the independent.uk article you linked above, Geggy. Now, I'm not out to trash just their work or your sources in general. All readily accessible media is just spin these days, but I'm going to show you why that link was not to be trusted, since you used it.

First off, I tend to tremember the things I've read. Because of that, this story seems awfully familiar. I'm pretty sure this story first appeared a couple of years ago at least. The only new news here is that the "Centre for Media and Democracy," a non-profit group (ever wonder why that phrase is included so prevalently among leftist groups? It adds credibility to those readers that think of profit as evil...), set up a really nice web page dedicated to pre-packaged news releases. On that site, a reporter from an outlet such as the independent.uk can find lots of good info on this topic... Hell, a reporter wouldn't even have to look anywhere else to write her story... It's all right there. One might even say the site is a pre-packaged story itself.

Here's the neat part: Nowhere in your linked article does the writer talk about when this happened. Why do you think this is suddenly "news" again? Think of the effect reading this "news" had on you, Geggy. You said: "Heres a example why i try to avoid the US media." That's the desired effect. You are being manipulated just the same as if your only input came from listening to Rush Limbaugh or reading michaelmoore.com.
