I always imagined american chavs would be yokel types with a pick-up truck up on bricks and washing machines in their front gardens (sorry PORCH). And as for that whole sock/sandal debacle, I thought that was strictly a paedophile/bird-enthusiast thing. I didn't realise it was fashionable in some parts of the world.
