9/11 Suspect's Case Gets Boost
HAMBURG, Germany, Aug.11, 2004

(AP)A key al Qaeda captive in U.S. custody told interrogators that a Moroccan on trial for helping the Hamburg-based Sept. 11 suicide pilots had no knowledge of the plot, according to a summary of evidence from the U.S. Justice Department read Wednesday in court, although authorities cast doubt on the credibility of the testimony.

Mounir el Motassadeq, accused of giving logistical aid to the Hamburg al Qaeda cell that included hijackers Mohamed Atta, Marwan al-Shehhi and Ziad Jarrah, is being retried after his conviction was thrown out in March.

Spain court overturns conviction of 9/11 suspect

MADRID -- Spain's Supreme Court yesterday threw out an Al Qaeda suspect's conviction for conspiracy to commit murder in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, after prosecutors said the evidence against him was weak.
