i used to have a flatmate like that, he would never pay rent, bills and by the time he left he owed a couple of hundred quid to his ex-girlfriend and one of my other flatmates (never got a penny off me, luckily)
the worst part was he would still buy expensive or useless shit despite owing money to other people, and every time we told him about a new bill/threat from landlord or whatever he would turn it about as if we were the ones doing him wrong.
he eventually moved on and joined the navy, and his dad had to pay us the owed back rent. he still owes my flatmate cash, but he shrugs it off whenever he is asked about it, just before bragging that he is getting a HD-TV and a PS3 soon.
in a word, he was an ass.
