The responsible thing for Governor Rounds to do would be to select, if it came to this, someone who reflected the same principles as Senator Johnson. The people of S. Dakota elected that man, theoretically, for what he stood for. The governor should honor that.
That probably wouldn't happen, but just saying....
Could he appoint an interim and then call for a special election in South Dakota?
