I've spent the last six years working on two different college campuses. I have no way to validate whether the examples cited are true or not, but I've certainly seen a lot of similiar activities. It's symbolic to me of what seems to be a larger problem on college campuses of folks working hard to reinforce their previously held ideas and values more than trying to challenge what they think they know to see a broader world view.
