I'd have to say Pulseman. Even though it wasn't released in America.

But if I had to pick an American one, it'd be Gauntlet IV.

Tekken 3 (sort of retro). It's without a doubt the best soundtrack of any of the games, but no one really talks about it (despite Tekken 3 being considered one of the greatests fighting games ever made). I thought the first too games (although not so bad in the second) felt overproduced and stock (hell, the sound effects, interfaces, and overall presentation felt stock). Tekken 3 really complemented the action in the game, mixing electronica, rock, and funk. The music to the last few games. however, didnt really feel right.
