stoner/doom metal thread

Metal and getting stoned are two items that should never be said in the same sentence let alone the same hyphenated word. "Stoner Rock" makes sense in a lot of ways, but the Metal genre is defined by its "distortion" and I cant imagine enjoying distortion with a head in the clouds.

The All Music Guide states that "of all rock & roll's myriad forms, heavy metal is the most extreme in terms of volume, machismo, and theatricality.
hmmmm sure doesn't sound like something a stoner would enjoy......
