Because, for some reason, older gamers seem to love difficulty levels that are the video-game equivalent to being sodomized with a rusty razor.
Ghouls and Ghosts, Super Mario Bros the Lost Levels, Battletoads Oh my god those games are so entertaining and painfully difficult that you feel like starring in a snuff - s/m movie. ((Yes I know, My comparison sucks))
