"So...I should dismiss the entire left based on the hypocrisy you accuse Chomsky of? By the same logic, should I dismiss all of Christianity based on the hypocrisy I have seen in its practioners?"

I think you misunderstood the quote. He wasn't saying the Leftist ideals should be condemned because of Chomsky, he was saying that Chomsky should be dismissed for failing to 'practice what he preaches' so to speak.

"So comparing 9/11 to certain U.S. foreign policies equals rationalizing 9/11? Excuse me but I don't follow the train of logic here."

Well, the logic goes, we've perpetrated enough acts that we had this coming and that somehow we deserved 9/11. 3,000 civilians did not deserve to die for the mistakes of their government when they have no responsibility or position to check its actions.

"As opposed to what better alternative?"

Crytpo-Anarcho Capitalism.

"How did the collectivzation cause the famine? Explain. "

I realize politics isn't your pot o' tea. You might enjoy a little debate here and there on your issues, but you're not into researching just for the sake of knowing on your own. This isn't a slight, so don't take it as one. But when you ask someone, like in this case Ronnie, for his opinions, more often than not you will receive bias information which may not proportionately match facts. I actually agree with the statement in the article, quite a few of them even if I don't share the author's conclusions, but I think it would be in your interest to take ten minutes, do a goodle for "mao" "worst famine" and "caused by" because it was Mao's quasi-communistic agricultural policies which resulted in that famine. Reading it for yourself, you'll have a better understanding of the issue.

"Funny how there is no source for this quote... "

Allow me to provide one. Do a page find here:

Full Quote:

"As to the NLF terror, I think Dr. Arendt and I agree in conclusion but probably disagree on the reasons. For me, her vision is too absolutistic. I don't accept the view that we can just condemn the NLF terror, period, because it was so horrible. I think we really have to ask questions of comparative costs, ugly as that may sound. And if we are going to take a moral position on this -- and I think we should -- we have to ask both what the consequences were of using terror and not using terror. If it were true that the consequences of not using terror would be that the peasantry in Vietnam would continue to live in the state of the peasantry of the Philippines, then I think the use of terror would be justified. But, as I said before, I don't think it was the use of terror that led to the successes that were achieved."
