I've been watching a bunch of older episodes on
http://www.southparkstudios.com, and I really used to like Cartman a lot more when he actually acted like a dumb, naive 8-year-old who was just an asshole because he didn't know any better. Now he's a diabolical psuedo-genius who is just an asshole in a way that a young kid isn't. Not that I'm complaining that the show is less
believable or whatever, but Cartman being an asshole because of stupidity and little-kid-selfishness was a lot funnier to me than Cartman being an asshole because of hate.
Randy Marsh is my new favorite character now, and the funny thing is as his character develops he acts more and more like he's 8-years old.
